I am currently looking for a nursing home for my father who is suffering from dementia. My father is currently in a rehab center, awaiting transfer to a nursing home. The rehab center sent out the proper paperwork called a PRI to a bunch of homes. Unfortunately, Woodmere responded that they would accept my father. I called to schedule a tour yesterday, 8/27/13. My name is Reverend Roy K. Before my recovery experience at Woodmere Rehabilitation & Health Care Center I was scared. I was always taught to take care of myself. This was a big transition. It took a lot for me to get use to someone changing me, supervising my food, and watching me and the things that I did. I resented it for some time, but then I decided to join the program at Woodmere Rehabilitation & Health Care Center to start the healing process myself. My dad has been there for 2 months now. First I would like to say that this place is absolutely filthy. The front desk check in staff and a couple of the CNAs are very nice. The head nurse and head doc are extremely unattentitive and clueless. My dad waited over a week for the doc to come in and see him. His trach has fallen out numerous times along with his roomate, hall lights going off alarm sounding and I still had to physically get someone for help, 2x he had to be bagged!!!!! This the worst Nursing home I have ever seen! From Adminstration and down to staff it is so pathetic, unorganized, and dysfunctional in every area of care! The Dr;s are just as lousy! The nursing care is so poor it's unbelievable! They seem to hire anyone with 2 hands and 2 feet! Even the state did not give them a descent rating! I wonder who they pay off to stay in business.
