I have found the most wonderful Gynecologist and caring office staff at Preferred Women's Healthcare in Lawrenceville, GA. Dr. Arona is knowledgeable, helpful, up-to-date on the latest GYN issues, and has a wonderful personality. She treats you like a friend and wants to help you to be healthy and happy. I found her by luck, after trying many Gynecologists over the years, which treated me like just a number. Stay FAR FAR AWAY! I have been a patient for many years until I had a super bad experience on a Tues with their PA when I had an issue and was told to "Go home and Google it", Seriously? Was in severe pain and tried to call office all day Wed to the tune of a busy signal. After getting someone finally on the phone they called in an antibiotic (not helpful in the situation I had) so by Sunday I was rushed to the ER and had to have surgery! WOW in all Caps!! Ladies Listen, I just had an appointment today and made it my duty to come straight home and write a review. I made an appointment a couple of weeks ago, printed out the patient forms, and in I went. I sat in the waiting room for less than 5 minutes and was greeted so nice by ALL staff members. Stay away. Far far away. I had a bad experience here on numerous occasions and finally decided I had enough! Dr. Hart has no bedside manner or compassion. Nor will she take the time to explain things to you if asked twice. She gave me the wrong diagnosis and nearly scared me to death. I left the office confused and in tears and basically did all the research myself on the subject online. She was very delayed in calling me back with some results I was waiting on. My first visit was awesome, quick, and I was very impressed. However, every time I needed to speak to a doctor/nurse after that, I felt like I was getting the run around. All I needed was for a doctor to call in a refill for my birth control and it was like pulling teeth. Good for original visit, beware if you need to be seen here on a regular basis. People are nice and they will get you in and out...IF they will even return your call.
Everyone there I met was extremely nice from the front desk to the techs, nurses, and doctors. I was greeted with a warm smile when I walked in, and a warm goodbye when I left. I was very nervous for my first appointment and left feeling great about everything and felt like Julie gave me all the information I needed to put me at ease. HIGHLY recommend to all women!
I have been a client for many years. Called today to get an order for a routine mamogram. Was told that they would not send the order because I had not been seen in the past year. I have had no reason to visit in the past year. At my age (55) and history (no prior abnormal pap smears) there was no reason for me go. It's all about the money for them. Find someone else.
The place is OK but there can be problems, especially if you need to have a lot of appointments. Over the course of the past 4 years some of the problems I've experienced are: difficulty getting a return phone call from some of the physician's assistants, at least one time I had a wait for more than an hour in the waiting room, not receiving notification about an abnormal pap test until 6 months after the fact, and being sent to a collection agency for 1 bad check that was written by mistake.
