Since 1966, this basement restaurant underneath the Old Town Shopping Center has been serving American and Italian dishes that border on ambitious. In addition to a wide scope of specialty pizza and pasta options, the kitchen also serves such daring creations as pork scaloppini and stuffed eggplant crepes. And since the day it opened it still serves cheese fondue, the house specialty. Parking hassles stand as the lone blemish.

We went to the Wine Cellar over 40 years ago when it was quaintly rustic. The ambiance & the fondue were excellent (we only had the fondue). Somewhere, there is an old table with our initials carved in it. We hadn't been back for quite a few years, but have rediscovered the Wine Cellar & to our delight, while the ambiance has changed with the times (a good thing), the people & the food are still excellent (not just the fondue). This is our date night go-to place
Ambiance is exceptional! Margarita flat bread delicious. We had a very pleasant afternoon on a rainy day!
Food was good, but we waited over an hour for our food and they were not busy. They gave us, party of five, one piece of key lime to share for our inconvenience. �����
The weather yesterday was glorious so eating al fresco was nice. I shared a beat salad and found the beets themselves while arranged beautifully, they were underseasoned and the lettuce undressed. The menu is not noted sufficiently for gf items. When I asked about gf offerings, the waiter said everything with a double asterisk was gf but in a way that made me me feel as though I should have known that already.
