I went in to book an eye exam but left feeling ignored and uncomfortable. After a brief greeting, I waited nearly 10 minutes without any help, while the front desk lady wearing glasses focused mainly on assisting Chinese speaking customers. A customer who arrived after me was helped sooner, seemingly because they spoke Chinese. Being surrounded by a language I didn’t understand while being overlooked felt isolating and unwelcoming.
