Rude waitstaff, trashy atmosphere – A friend and I stopped in for dinner while shopping on Grand. The food was fine, nothing too special. The most disturbing part of the experience was the waitstaff. Not only were they dressed entirely too revealing, but they came across actually trashy and rude. don't believe these idiots panning the Wild Onion – I never write reviews on sites like this, but I liked this place so much -- and no I don't have any financial or personal connection to it - that I decided to weigh in. All of these people complaining about the service and food here are clueless. It's a very classy place with great food; I bet a lot of these people complaining are obnoxious people or drunks who didn't get treated like royalty, and can't figure out why. Check out the Wild Onion. You won't be sorry.
SERVICE SUCKS!!! – We were there in the middle of the day and ordered lunch. I think there was maybe only three other tables that had people at them. Service was terrible, not only did she get our food wrong, she was so slow.... so slow..... It took her a good 10 minutes to even ask us what we wanted to drink. worst experience ever – i am glad after reading a few other reviews that i am not the only one who has had bad service at this establishment. i dont understand how they can go about thinking they can push their guests around and be so rude to them. i was yelled at by one waitress to "MOVE!!!" while standing at the bar. have you ever heard of "excuse me"? and i told her she didnt need to yell at me-i didnt know i was in her way. i informed her that i was also a waitress and i would never yell at any of my customers. she didnt... read more
love the onion – The Wild Onion is an awesome place to dance and meet people. The music is great and the staff is great. DJ Eve rocks. I would highly recommend going.
Great place for birthdays or anytime – I like this place-here's why. You can come to this trendy, stylish place on a Tuesday night and run into people you haven't seen in a long time. It's a place to see and be seen, especially on Tuesday nights when not a lot is going on in other places. I love their drinks, food and ambiance. It's trendy like Grand Avenue in fabulous St. Paul tends to be, and the menu is diversified. I would take friends there for a night out and impress them with it's look and feel. Definitely recommended! – Very unique menu! Many items I have never seen at other restaurants, like the Wrigley Field Pastrami, the Steak Diane, and the Reddened Chicken. Also, be sure to try their mashed potatoes- They have a featured flavor each day, and are excellent! Late night is great too! Many college kids- a great place to meet people and dance the night away!
Good Lunch – I stopped by on a week day for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was really cool (I'll have to come back some evening) and the service was excellent. I tried the ceasar chicken sandwich and loved it. Even my glass of iced tea was above par.
Great food, good service, snobby patrons – Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. Ordered the quesadilla that was outstanding. My strawberry salad was great too. Our server was kind and prompt. However, the patrons were odd. There were two obviously over intoxicated guys at the bar that were being served. One almost stumbled into me. I would recommend coming here, but I would say only for lunch.
