Chicago Pub Fare Wild Onion located on Grand is a Chicago style neighborhood bar and grill. The pub fare is numerous on the menu but we settled on the walleye sliders. Tiny battered morsels of walleye on dinner rolls served with horseradish laced tarter sauce. Tasty, moderately priced, local bar crowd, slow but dependable servers.
Wild Onion The Wild Onion is a pretty good place to grab a beer and meet some friends. Its conveniently located on Grand Ave, so you can go from there to somewhere else and make a night of it.
Too Standard This place used to be more of a family restaurant, now it has turned into a so-so night club. The food wasn't and isn't great and the service has gone down hill.
Worst Place on Grand period The Wild Onion is the worst example of a "Birthday House" that I have ever seen. They are clearly a racist business, and I never play the race card. EVERY SINGLE TIME I go there, there is some kind of issue. It can range a "dress code" violation, to someone drinking their Birthday drink too fast. They ALWAYS find a reason to create a problem with people of color. I advise anyone with any kind of tint in their skin or slanted eyes to stay clear away from this place. Wild Onion The Wild Onion is a fun place to grab some food and beer. They usually have some type of entertainment on the weekends. The atmosphere is pretty nice and they are usually pretty fast to serve.
Terrible. I've never been to the Wild Onion before tonight. I went there right after my Tai Chi class (which ends at 9pm) tonight to join some friend to toast someone who passed away 4 years ago in a tragic plane accident. I get to the door and the door guy says there is a dress code and my dark gray sweats (dark) were not code. I explain why I am there and he asks me where I live and if I could go change. I said west of Minneapolis so no. He asks the manager (it's 9:20pm now) and the manager says no, don't let me in. So if ... read more
I will NEVER, ever visit this place again after one of the bouncers picked my brother up and threw him to the ground, resulting in a broken wrist. Perhaps even worse than this, the owner and management did not take this claim seriously, instead blaming the victim and making the whole experience even more traumatic. It is frightening to me that the owners and managers do not know what their employees are doing, and that they do not have any security cameras installed to find out, even though my brother is not the first to rep... read more

Wow. I watched the bar let over 100+ underage women in with out of state IDs, then not let me in, called to police to let them know of the violation. Unbelievable management to serve underage patrons.
