To a great server! – I usually never write anything but today i need to do this. Me and my friends go to the wild onion all the time and my favorite server is Elise. She has never been rude to anyone and is always willing to help you even if your not her table. She always has a smile on her face and i see many of customers stop her just to say Hi. I was actually there also just a couple of weeks ago when i saw her start to run out of the restraunt and when she came back i asked if everything was ok. She was out of breath and... read more
Great deals for your birthday! – I came here, not so much for the food, but for the drinks. They have all you can drink (drinks may change, call ahead of time and ask about their specials) until a 9pm, along with the free drinks for the birthday person, they also provide a meal/appetizer deal (only for the birthday person) They should expand their restuarant/bar.
biggest UN appreciative wait staff EVER – not to be on the rude side but when you run up a huge tab in comparisson to the other patrons of this place and you tip big. you dont even get a thank you. the wait staff even tries to defend the other staff by saying you are wrong. they must have done it. I was there with several friends and they all agreed that it was quite rude. The wild onion had staff that accuses people of being something they are not. The barttenders before the night crew were much more courteous and friendly.... read more
(Was) my favorite place in st. paul – This is a long review but please read so the same thing doesn't happen to you. Unfortunately I am changing my review. This used to be my favorite place in St. Paul until a couple nights ago. To start off, March 6th is my birthday; we went to the wild onion on March 5th. I will link to there birthday specials page: wild-onion(dot)net/birthdays On the Wednesday specials it says buy an entree get another free when you come in on the week of your birthday. When we asked our waitress, elise, ... read more
Still a Great Weekend Bar – So my girlfriends and I used to always frequent the Wiid Onion in college- (2003-2005) but haven't been back until last night (Friday, March 3). We came in around ten pm, and the atmosphere already seemed fun. We sat at a table by the bar and had appetizers and drinks. The food, as I remembered, was great. And I don't just mean for bar food. I was also impressed by the service. All the waitresses and bartenders seemed to be in a good mood, even when it got pretty busy after midnight. I was also gl... read more
Good drinks, great food and okay service! – I went to The Wild Onion for the first time last night with a few friends. We had a heard a lot about the place and decided to check it out. I liked the place as soon as I walked in! It was pretty classy but not so much that you would need to dress up to go there. It was a little hard to find a seat and nobody really directed us to a certain table or anything so we kind of felt like dorks circling the restaurant a few times. After we found a table we were greeted right away by a se... read more
How to have fun at the Wild Onion – Here's why you go to the Wild Onion: To get a few drinks and make fun of the girls with muffin-tops and their overly hair gelled boyfriends. It sounds mean, I know, But it's fun.
Good Neighborhood Place – I went to the Wild Onion for the first time this week. I enjoyed my experience. I had the walleye rueben. It was delicious. The waitress was friendly and attentive. The drinks were okay, but not terrible. Overall, it was a pleasant experience.
It's a man's world at this elegant sports bar with a Chicago theme. – In Short The Wild Onion is styled after traditional Chicago bars, although you may not get that until you see the Sears Tower Onion Rings and Wrigley Field Pastrami next to the steak Diane and Cajun walleye on the menu. What's more obvious is that this place is an Esquire-reading, microbrew-savoring, ESPN-loving man's haven. It's warm and surprisingly elegant, with exposed-brick walls, a Frank Sinatra soundtrack and booths overlooking Grand Avenue.
Wild Onion has a 3.3 star rating with 620 reviews.
