About this business

Specialties So what is this place all about? We still recall the day a number of years ago when a table of rambunctious regulars proclaimed, "We have voted Wild Abandon the most unpretentious restaurant in Portland!" That's a title we live up to every day. In short, we're a super casual neighborhood spot with great drinks, killer eats, and a staff that's excited to share them with you. Our menu includes lots of comfort food and casual fare with international flair, and we offer plenty of options for people with all different... read more

Holy Lola this place is Good! – Twice I've been here. Once this last summer seated on the patio and just a couple nights ago during happy hour. In the summer we had the "Dream" salad which was quite tasty and sides of their very delicious au gratin potatoes. Other than the fact that we had to be near smokers (we are very much allergic) we had a romantic and pleasant dining experience. The other night we went for happy hour and though I had a hankering for their au gratin & salad I wanted to try their baked ziti. My partner h... read more

Slllooooowwwwww service. (did I mention slow service?) – Seated immediately. Order taken in a reasonable amount of time. My girlfriend asked the waiter if the sangria had fruit in it "yes, we make it in house". No, there was no fruit..and it wasn't very good, but it came in a timely manner. However, the food took f o r e v e r to arrive. I think I missed a couple holidays while I was waiting. Did I mention slow service? After about an hour, we asked if the appetizer was still coming.. at which point the waiter dissapeared, a... read more

Great Food, Great People, Not So Great Service – The inside the restaurant is relatively small, but the patio is much bigger (seat about 60 people). The kitchen may not be big enough when it's full. We went there on a lovely Friday and we could see that the patio was nearly full. Water came fast and we ordered almost immediately. But the food took a loooong time. But once the food arrived, it was all good. The chicken mazlan was amazing and I loved my chicken stuffed with goat cheese, tomato, and spinatch, with white wine sa... read more

Unbelievably slow service – To be fair we went to Wild Abandon on a (rare) lovely Friday evening. The restaurant was crowded so allowances must be made. It took a reasonable length of time for us (party of four) to be seated - but then we were abandoned and ignored by the wait staff. It took a half hour before anyone deigned to take our orders, and an hour and twenty minutes to finally get the food. During that hour we managed to flag down a waiter and ask for bread. The first time he delivered one small serving for four peo... read more

The name of the restaurant is what you will get. – We went for breakfast and sat at the patio as recommended. Our order was taken 20 minutes later. During our 45 min wait for food, we watched other people wait: for their checks, for their water, for their tabasco sauce or any sort of acknowledgement of why they were even there. After an hour, breakfast came at lunch. And as most of you know, it's hard to eat when you are angry/hungry. The eggs were uneventful, I don't remember if there was cheddar, the black beans looked lik... read more

We like this place... – It's comfortable and condusive to conversation and no one rushes you. The wine pours are generous, the food is pretty good and reasonably priced. The pasta dishes are really good and the salads fresh.

great prices and love the atmosphere – prices for food and drinks at happy are very affordable. half and full carafes of red wine and sangria also very reasonable. i love how dark and lush the atmosphere is. we just started going since the weather turned fowl but the deck is beautiful. steak is tasty and is the most expensive thing there at only $19, most dishes are $12 or so. 2 in our party got the special of lamb shanks for $12 and they raved abou it. shame that they are closed on tuesdays, it's just not a day you expect a... read more

Belmont's romantic nook warms locals with comfort foods and lush decor. – In Short Rich, jewel-toned decor with red velvet banquettes and gypsy-style lanterns create a romantic glow perfect for a tete-a-tete. The cozy surroundings are complemented by refined comfort food. The goat cheese torta layers creamy chevre, pesto and roasted garlic. The Willamette dream salad combines soft blue cheese, honey-glazed pecans, grilled apples and sweet currants over organic greens with lemon-basil vinaigrette. The chicken crepes are fille... read more
