Every year, my family goes here and picks out lobsters for our New Year's Eve dinner. This year, one of the guys from the fish counter came over to help us. My dad would pick one, the guy would take it and be able to tell us the weight with amazing accuracy. It made one of our favorite holiday traditions that much more enjoyable! Thanks!
Great selection. The best one-stop-shop place to get fish/seafood in Pittsburgh. However, their prices aren't always competitive on items that you can get from other stores. Some of their prices also make little sense. I found a 1-pound bag of surimi for $2.99... but a 3 pound bag was $10! Why would I pay a dollar more for 3 pounds when I can buy three individual one-pound bags for $9? Normally, you'd get a discount for buying a larger package. Still, all in all, a good place.
Wholey's is excellent for fresh fish and many other items. but I have to give it up to my man Andy at the fresh sushi stand awesome stuff dude!!!
I love Wholey's and miss it since I'm back in New Orleans BUT when I visit next month I will be going there to stock up on some things to bring back South!
