I ordered 24 pounds of squid and 8 pounds of sardines. Wholeys did NOT use and icepack, or dry ice, it was a smelly mess I had to toss. Contacted company and thought we were on a path to resolve this issue, but once we asked to them reship at their cost, all communication from them ended. I will gladly amend my review if they come thru to fix their mistake. UPDATE So the first time I ordered the squid, it was shipped with no ice and was a smelly mess when I opened the box. Been a family favorite for four generations of DeRito's, always a great lunch stop, free ice to get our wares back home, and helpful people all over the store. Fresh is just not a sign, it really is great quality without a six hour ride to the shore.
My folks, who are 79 and 84 and have been married for almist 64 years, have lived in Beaver County their entire lives. They recently moved to Carnegie. They have never been to The Strip or to Wholey's!! So, we took a little ride yesterday and treated them to Fish Sandwiches and Fries at Wholey's! They were so happy!! It was delicious!!
