Hello Ames, my name is Kenesau Kriewaldt. I recently moved into 1216 Walton Dr. in Ames, Iowa. I went through a sublease at West End Living. The property manager is Erick Olguin, and the on-site manager is typically Erik Charter. I moved in on May 4, 2026, with a one-year lease. After moving in, my little brother moved in as well. The apartments are fairly nice, but the maintenance and management staff are terrible. Maintenance requests will get marked as completed when nothing has been done, mailboxes don’t even close causing packages to be stolen, and even the emergency maintenance line won’t come fix a leak in the ceiling. If you choose to live here, expect to have your rent consistently raised every year with no explanation as to why and no increase in benefits. These people were horrible to us just because we had some background issues and they were so rude had us drive from montezuma Iowa to Ames horrible people.
There are PIGEONS IN THE BUILDINGS. They don't perform maintainance, they increase rent every year, and they've cut amenities. Management doesn't care and they'll do anything to get out of their legal responsibilities. .
