I love this place. I love the art, I love the crew so much, the music, the fairies in the windows, the food, and the coffee. It's my only coffee shop.
I haven't eaten here or bought from here but I found out that WEB recently hired a minor, failed to complete his hiring paperwork, and then had him working on a very busy Saturday with NO training far past the hours he was supposed to work. Of course, the young man, decided this was a poor choice for him to work. Then WEB didn't want to pay him, lied about his paperwork, and treated his parents disrespectfully. I won't be going to WEB when I'm in Asheville.
Screwed my friend Will out of a day's pay. Manager's name is Kerry. Will is a minor, and because the job wasn't right for him, they decided they didn't owe him any money. Evidently. Allegedly.
I have been a Bakery regular since l moved to West Asheville 12 or so years ago. I meet friends, drink great coffee, eat delectable food, usually love on the art. I love the service from cool young folk, and exchange smiles with all sorts of people. I love West End Bakery.
