About this business

Ventura is an ode to the blending of tradition with modern affordances. Mark and Kathy Hartley set out to create a restaurant that follows this model. All is housed inside a building that dates back to the 1920s on property dating back to the 1900s that has been transformed into a modern masterpiece. Throughout the restaurant and rooftop lounge one can easily find a synthesis of old and new. Priceless murals depicting the Camino Real from the 1920s stare down at tables reserved through an online reservation system. Top shelf ... read more

Best in Ventura I love everything about this place: the food, the service, the art, the Art Deco building, all tastefully done. I highly recommend it. Five stars plus.

The prices are high for Ventura, but overall it was a good meal and great service.

Horrible experience, so dissapointed! The "Service" was so awful and the food was covered in oil and way to much crushed garlic. The bread was so stale it was not edible. The prices and waaaay to expensive for what you get. I would never visit this restaurant again! Very rude staff.

Snobby Staff – The owner and staff here are racsist and uppity snobs. I've lived here my entire life and these people do not represent Ventura at all. Take your crappy restaurant and get out of town.

the previous reviewer must work there...just a thought – Underwhelming. For the premium price and surroundings I expected much, much more. The servers are strained, at best, just plain aloof and rude at worst, and for the most part entirely unfamiliar with any culinary aspect of what they are doing. And when they try to pass themselves off as sommeliers, it's embarrassing to watch. The food is trite, beyond that there's not much more to say. It is what's lacking that is most notable. A menu without a clear sense of direction... read more

The Watermark leaves a mark. – Just walking into this place will dazzle you. It is absolutely beautiful, from the building itself, to the artwork throughout, to the element of class it gives. Yet the feel of the place is laid-back and relaxed. Not pretentious at all. You won't forget it, or the experience. The food is superior, and can be artwork of its own on one's taste buds. But there is far more to the Watermark. Just walk upstairs, or take the elevator depending on how high your heels are. W20 is the upstairs lounge tha... read more

Absolutely Beautiful yo Look At, but DO NOT CONSUME – I absolutely love this place, and first experienced it as Natalie's Fine Threads. The expansion is wonderfully done, and the third floor bar looks to be the main draw. BUT..... Dining was a bland and indifferent experience. The four of us has a full course meal, and each dish was bland and indifferent. The "Watermark" Sarah was undrinkable, the French Press coffee bitter. The prices are premium, but I'd rather go to Spago in BH for the same price, or any dive with tasty f... read more

A+ – First of all, I usually have to leave Ventura to drink or dine in the kind of establishments that I normally go to, I LOVE IT! Ventura finally has an elegant, sophisticated, fun, and quality restaurant. I love seafood, so I go straight for the Ahi Salad on the W20 menu, as well as the chili dusted prawns that make anyone sitting near this dish mouth water. The other patrons also make it a great experience- I have fun every time!
