Isn't the purpose of having a VON is to avoid having to drive myself to meet them at THEIR location? I am taking 4-6 Tylenol-3 for pain for the next few days. No way will I drive myself or bum a ride. Its their job and they are paid for their services. Their "staffing issues" sounds like a THEM problem....not mine. My chain of command will be notified
I have been under the care of VON Dartmouth for the past few months due to foot surgery. During that period I have had numerous cancellations due to staffing issues. My doctors have ordered dressing changes every other day to prevent infections and promote healing. NS Health must address this shortcoming to prevent patient illness and re-admission to the hospital for wound care.
I am very displeased with VON. Yes, some nurses are nice- many are not. I have been trying to determine what type of bandage they used the first times they came. They would not tell me the type except brand name. They took the bag of bandages they used so I don’t even know what to look for. I told they healed my sores. The last bandage they gave me was a joke. Not impressed at all.
