The Village has been a neighborhood favorite for decades. Best-selling novelist and Richmond native, Tom Robbins, used to frequent the joint. The servers are notoriously rude, but that is part of the charm. Their behavior is not so offensive as to prevent guests from having a positive experience. So typically the food is great but tell me why if you are open til 2am that your kitchen closes at 11pm. I had to hurrily order so I ordered a breakfast special and no one bothers to tell me that you are out of hashbrowns potatoes. I went to bite into my "hashbrowns with cheese" only to find that the potatoes on top were the hashbrowns potatoes that were hiding french fries on the bottom. My white toast was burnt to where I couldn't eat it. Typically y'all are better than the crap I ate tonight.

Good food, nice atmosphere. overall great first time, the server Jonathon was super attentive, would def go back
Had a dinner with family here and YUM! Burger fries and a shake were awesome and our waitress was great!

Just tried eating here and the waitress stared at me multiple times but wouldn’t come serve us. She served someone else that came after and never came to us.
The Village Cafe is one of my favorite spots on campus. The food is great, whether it's brunch, lunch, or dinner. The service never disappoints!
