I went to pick up my father tonight from this horrendous hospital. He was outside the ER doors, in a wheelchair by himself with a broken ankle. It was chilly and extremely windy and no one came out to help get him in the car, it took me 10 minutes to get him in the car. I can't believe that a hospital would treat people like that, especially a Via Christi. I do not recommend the hospital or emergency. I called and talked to the head nurse and then left a message with the manager, we will see if they call me tomorrow.
Had a hard time coming out of anesthesia from a gallbladder removal surgery and according to my husband nobody would let him know what was going on, he had to harass people to get any answers. When he finally spoke to the doctor and was able to come back to me he seen they had just thrown me in a pitch dark room and closed the door. This was 2 hrs after my surgery! I went there for what I thought was a brown recluse bite under my arm which was hurting and later I got nausea and uncomfortable tightening of my chest. I was treated by two "doctors". One didn't know what the heck she was doing and the other didn't want to give me the time of day. She kept referring to him with every step she made so I started directing any question I had to him. On 8/10/20 I encountered 2 nurses they were both responsible for the care of my wife. I assumed that they would be kind and caring they were not! Alexis , the certified nurse assistant was short and didn’t take the time to explain why she was doing what she was doing and Kristen the other nurse was rude and told me to leave not in a kind way either. When I called to file a grievance I was transferred and then hung up on. I am beyond upset and disappointed in the lack of care that should be done in a hospital.

RecommendedWe took our daughter here for a broken arm. The entire staff was incredibly friendly and we were seen promptly. Even the woman who checked us in came and checked in on her. Dr. Stephens and our nurse (I can’t remember her name 😔) were amazing; they were kind, caring, and explained everything to our little girlie who was asking ALL the questions. Dr. Halphen, the orthopedic dr on call, came in to set her arm and he got there quickly and was also super friendly! I would definitely recommend this ER to anyone who needs to go. ... read more
Do not recommend the ER.
Had a minor operation here and my nurses were AMAZING friendly and competent. Very efficient and the people were just super great not one bad thing to say .
