At the vet's office with Gabby. they basically did a triage out in the truck told us to wait in the truck as a waiting room. Took her inside. they are treating her now and then they will call us when they're ready to bring her out and we'll do everything from the truck in the parking lot. She is doing fine, she just had a ruptured anal gland so she wanted to treat it for possible infection. This emergency vet has got this down. Very, Very Cool.

I can’t say enough good things about this place. We have unfortunately had to use them twice (once on the Clinic side and once on the Emergency side) - one dog had valley fever in her spinal column and brain, and the other had a perforated ulcer. We were treated kindly, kept very well-informed, and at all times felt they did the best they could for our animals. The veterinarians, techs, and staff know their stuff, and are very clearly passionate about what they do. If you cannot visit your pet due to them being in isolation ... read more

Folks, if you need to say goodbye to your pet, this is the place to do it - it's NOT a cold clinical setting, but a lovely LARGE room to accommodate several people, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking a memory garden with benches where you can sit with your pet as long as you need to before summoning the doctor. It's never easy to part with our fur babies, but my experience there recently made it at least less hard.

Business response:

Kate, thank you for your kind words. The heart remembers most what it has loved best. May fond memories comfort you and bring you peace.

Will never recommend this place. Emergencies happen and I completely understand that, but to put someone in an examine room, sit there for 3 hours and be told a second vet is coming in to help with patient load. If a second vet showed up the patient load should move faster then molasses. My pet may not be an emergency and may be stable but a wait of 5 hours is ridiculous.

Business response:

Karen, we apologize for the wait time. All pets that come to the Veterinary Specialty Center of Tucson are seen based on the urgency of their condition. Depending on the urgency of condition of your pet and other pets in the hospital at the same time, a veterinarian may not be able to see your pet immediately.
