I spent twenty minutes or so savoring a cold brewed coffee. It was welcoming enough and I found a seat outside that was comfortably pleasant to pause and reflect.
I really, truly wanted to hate this place. It could have been that it was early and I was grumpy, so my AM hate was strong. But honestly, the people were so nice (please excuse my hateful stereotyping) and the drinks and food were so damn delish, this place was able to melt my ice cold, bitter heart. Remember that scene in Pulp Fiction when John Travolta asks the waiter, "What's in the five dollar milkshake?" The waiter says, "It's just a milkshake." The prices at this place remind me of that scene. Travolta says, "I've got to see what a five dollar milkshake tastes like." This is an interesting place to visit but the whole coffee scene is getting a little too precious for me. I'm glad I went and I encourage others to visit...but even if geography permitted me to be a regular at this place I would not do so.
