There are always a few “reference” points that exemplify what an experience should be. Vernick has been that reference point for me since it opened more than a decade ago. Vernick continues to be the heavyweight champion of the Philadelphia restaurant scene. Sure, we owe it to ourselves to try the new restaurants that come and go in this city. But returning to Vernick quickly makes one question why we even go anywhere else. Vernick still impresses. The execution, attention to detail, versatility, and ever evolving menu always pleases. Sat at the chefs table and it was incredible...Blue crab aoili on toast, beef tartar on toast, smoked duck breast and halibut for meal... The halibut was hands down the best fish I have ever had. 100/100
