food was great. my husband had the lamb. we loved the apricot canapes. however our service wasn't the best. our waitress brought my husband's soup before our appetizer. It appeared she forgot to put in our appetizer.
Everything is great! The food. The atmosphere. The paintings. The staff were all so nice. The escargot was delicious. The steak was great! It is the nicest restaurant for that special someone to enjoy that one moment to reminisce the good times! Cheers!

I live north of NYC but every time I visit my hometown, this is my go to for lunch or dinner. My brother, Steven Hinshaw, always makes sure we dine at his favorite restaurant. Excellent food and wonderful service!
The food and service were both excellent. The French Onion Soup was especially good!
My boyfriend and I had never been before . Our waiter was awesome and recommended several things . I decided on the duck since I had never eaten it before. It was amazing ! Tony had the 14 oz steak and his was wonderful too. The French onion soup was the best he’s ever had, he said! We shared the pecan pie.. and it was heavenly! We will be coming back to try the lunchtime menu . The place is top notch !

The first time we were at Vera Mae's it was wonderful! This time though the food was not good at all! something in the kitchen must have changed. The service was wonderful but my wife got served the wrong steak, then when they brought the second one it was overcooked. She ended up not even eating. My lamb was overcooked and I had to send it back. The blue cheese was horrible this time, even the feta wontons were not good. I was so disappointed. This used to be my favorite restaurant!
