I love the Whaler, but this was easily my worst experience there. Our waitress forgot our buddy's quesadilla, on top of the fact that the fritters with chipotle mayo and maple syrup were taken off the menu. I've been there numerous times before and had lovely times, however this one was kind of a bummer.
The menu has definitely stepped up! I had the hash featured on the brunch menu and it is AMAZING! The staff of The Venice Whaler work hard to make sure everyone has a great time. Keep in mind, it gets packed on weekends, especially the terrace from 11 to dusk, but the first level patio is a great option for dining/drinking/and people watching.
We had a fun time being there. Met a lot of nice people. Excellent view over the sea from the top. Food was excellent, and staff was nice and smiling :)

The Whaler burger is worth the visit alone. Real cool spot to overlook the beach. Bartender was friendly and had great recommendations!
Friday evening meet with my daughter and niece that visited from Atlanta. Thought it w as a cool place to meet up but it was to dark, couldn’t read the menu and server was worried about cashing out; shift was over, versus taking our order! 😮
