Absolutely terrible care provided. They had my dog on the wrong medication for over a year charging me the whole time. They sent him home after putting stitches in without a cone, then emailed me telling me to make sure he wears a cone. He ripped the stitches out that night because he didn’t have one. I called them the next day to bring him back to get the stitches fixed, they said they can’t get him in for 5 days, and told me I owed $350 for stitches that lasted about 6 hours. The manager then told me that the doctor was wr... read more

Although Dermott has mixed emotions about his new medicine routine we couldn’t be happier about our experiences here. Dr. Couts always does a great job of looking after our rats. He keeps us informed and is great about staying in touch. Excellent team to bring your small animals to.

I would have given VCA four or maybe even five stars.. Until the day I came home from having my first baby to my dog not being able to walk covered in her own pee and poop and needing to be put to sleep.. and VCA was too busy to fit us in. My dog had gone there for about 5 years! What a let down!

Business response:

Peggy, we're terribly sorry we were not able to see Sage when she needed us. We can assure you that we have not stopped being absolutely thorough and committed to providing top-notch services. We've been working diligently to accommodate a high number of patients amid these unprecedented times, and unfortunately sometimes we have to refer patients to emergency hospitals when the demand exceeds our capacity to safely care for them. We'd like to further discuss this with you if you can please email our hospital manager at Sara... read more

Thank you to the staff at VCA Wakefield. My daughters hamster passed away literally in the transfer from car to office. The staff was amazing in that they took her paw prints and returned her to us in a beautiful box with a Purple Heart. The note they wrote was heartwarming and made my little girl feel so much better. They made a very difficult moment so much easier for us. Our pup is a patient as well and I cannot say enough great things about how caring and compassionate they are!

When we had to make the insanely painful decision to put our 13 1/2 corgi down we couldn't of asked for more understanding and compassionate people! All of them! They brought Henry in for us, got on the floor with us and shared our pain. It also didn't end there! When I returned to get his remains, they were STILL so compassionate and so respectful regarding our pain! They didn't forget us and this will stick with us forever!!! Our pain was more than we thought it would be and their compassion made this all almost bearable! ... read more

Dr. Morris is very good in listening to our concerns. He gives his weight-in on treatment/tests so we can fully understand different options to treat our sensitiveOreo. He also explained the side effects on medication which is important to us to know what Oreo is taking and how he may response to certain medication. Dr. Morris is super gentle to our cats. Mocha (aka the friendly hisser) absolutely loves Dr. Morris. 🐾🐾😺😺

Dr. Kruse is wonderful with my cats. She is very calm and makes the stressful visit much easier for the cats. Always able to answer any questions I may have for her, which is very helpful. The front desk team and all the techs are also great. Thank you! 😸🙏🏼
