Of the several exhibitions on offer, the Murakami one is the most interesting. However, the limitations of the current gallery are apparent when one compares this show to the one he gave at the Mori Gallery in Tokyo a couple of years ago. A lot of his most famous works just won't fit in our smaller space. I am sure the new gallery will be superior in this way. Two quibbles: why only one person at the ticket counter on a busy day, and why so few benches upon which to sit and meditate ( and rest my aged tootsies)?
It was my first time ever at the gallery. I really enjoyed the exhibitions. I learned a lot!
Art is there for those that appreciate it. Not necessarily my style. But it’s very interesting. Some of it seems a little more deep in macabre, but it’s very bright in colour and very depth and feeling
Went specifically for the Murakami exhibit which was amazing. Well worth the time.

It’s a great place for family activity, My 2 kids love it there.
I love the VAG for all its diverse exhibits and great customer service. When my 8 year old son and I want to be inspired (he loves visual art and I am a hair & makeup stylist), we spend an afternoon at the VAG and fill up our creative tanks. We will have to visit the Murakami exhibit again to savour it all, it’s been one of his faves so far! Looking forward to more exciting artists’ work as we head towards the summer!
Best show in many years! A must see in Vancouver!!! ���
Wasn't happy with the exhibit, I felt as if I was told there would be a lot more than there actually was. I believe I was in there for about 20min + 48$ later.
