Talk about great food! Full of classic flavors but with a wonderful twist that I think comes from the good quality meat they use. Everyone should try Van’s!!
The brisket was excellent. For $12 you can get one meat and two delicious sides. I had the fried okra and baked beans and both were great.
Van’s in Norman was instrumental in providing a special meal for some men in the art guild in prison. They had been locked to cell for 5 weeks and smoked brisket and pork, a a couple of pecan pies et al was just the thing to make things easier. A big shout out to manager Michael!

Not much in the way of barbeque in Norman, but Vans is the most reliable bet. Been around for ages so they must be doing something right. I always get the ribs but the chopped beef sandwich is good also.
