The parking situation here for visitors is ridiculous. I was here to see my father who is inpatient and being released today and normally I am able to park in the valet lot by the main entrance since I am his ride. Well this morning the guy at the gate wouldn't let me park there and instead I had to park in a lot about 2 miles away. There are no visible signage for visitor parking. Get it together VA hospital.

14 May, 2016 >> 4 West has been without AC since early afternoon. Interior temps estimated in mid to high 80s. Windows can't be opened. Fans not allowed. Building / Engineering unresponsive to Nursing staff. My heart monitoring electrode 'pasties' are LITERALLY melting off me. I'm in for a triple bypass on THU 19th IF...I make it. Fixin' to discharge myself and take my chances in a nearby hotel WITH AC. At least I won't die because of sweltering heat and no fresh air. Tucker, Kenneth E. #8591

The staff all work together to make your experience the best they possibly can.Overall it seems like they do care about you here,they try not to treat you like a number.
I would like to comment on my husbands recent visit to the va in west haven. Treatmen was excellent. Especially on the Step Down Unit. And special thanks to nurses Barbie and Megan.they we both informative and attentive. God bless them both. Bill and Lucy Wyllie
Top notch medical staff, no long waits for appointments. Easy handicapped access with no cost valet parking.
The people on Oncology are amazing people. They treated us all like family during a rough time with my dad. Dr. Chao and Tracy Shamas and Marcia will forever be part of our family.
