It's not often I learn something about sustainability from a restaurant. Far more often I am met with platitudes and BS, so when I asked which of two grass fed steaks (that differed in price significantly) I might pick from a sustainability perspective, I was both surprised and informed by the response I got. I was advised that one of them came from Nebraska rather than Oregon and therefore had to travel further (this aspect I understood already), but also, that the meat from Nebraska was from a particular variety of cattle ... read more
This is the 'Swank' restaurant I mentioned a week ago, if you are local give it try and if you can tell me it is not the best steak you have ever had.
Just OK. The service was excellent, the food was good, but not outstanding. Decent steak - but really average for a Portland steakhouse - and at $45+ per it should be better. Side choices were good, but overall unispired and bland. I expected alot more out of "Portland's Steakhouse". If you are 20 something (or want tobe) and have alot of money to blow, then hang out here. If you are looking for a good steak and nice dinner you can do much better elsewhere.
Oh my gosh this is my all time favorite restaurant in Portland! Amazing food, great service and atmosphere. The brunch on the weekends is the best! They have great bloody marys with all the goodies you could want, including candied bacon! Yumm
this pl have to be one of the snobbish wanna be pl. bad service.
