The Uptown Arts Bar is a premier venue and platform for performing arts. Located in the hip Uptown District of Midtown, it was originally built in 1925. Over the decades it has won accolades aplenty for being the best of its kind in Kansas City. Their eclectic schedule features live music, comedy, poetry, burlesque, dance, magic, and more, by emerging and established talent. It is also a partner venue for the Fringe Festival. It can hold 150 guests and features a bar and outdoor patio.

Favorite bar in KC! Great people, great bartenders, great drinks, great atmosphere, great art. I live for the poetry open mics every Wednesday night. Such a welcoming crowd and you are always sure to meet the most genuine people here.
I felt very comfortable with the environment...lots of fun people! Only wish I would've got Tim's number...hehe
Love this place! It's a go to place for me and my husband. We buy Art there All the time. The down stairs is entertaining but the upstairs is where the party's at its like a German techno club I love it! Bartenders are super cool and nice!

I've been going here almost every Tuesday for the open mic Lyric Lab for the last few months! It's a great atmosphere filled with talented people just coming in to share their passions. Diverse, non-judgmental, exciting place with nothing but love to give! Last night was my first time on stage and I only have greater respect for the place! Can't wait 'til next Tuesday!
My home bar. Everything queer, everything art. This is truly a community embedded into the arts first and foremost, and a bar second. No sports playing on the television or the overhead speaker system, but the artists performing. It caters to every artist, all over the spectrum. From folk music to spoken word, from karaoke to comedy, beats to burlesque, edm to roots, you really can't go wrong at Uptown Arts Bar.
I held my friends baby shower at this venue and had problems with the event coordinator. Her response time was very unprofessional and she made false claims to what the outside food and drink policies were. The one positive thing I have to say about the place is the bartender Zophia is awesome. She was great and helped make the best out of our situation.
