was forced to remove my own IV and "leave AMA" all because I used my patients rights and asked for another doctor that was NOT going to be rude! I was told I had no rights to anything and the nurses tried to hold me in the hhospital all because I refused to sign papers I didn't have to sign since I had the right to refuse. OH AND IM IN LABOR!!!😒😡😠 UPDATE: Ended up being told theu believed the nurses lies. I'm so sick of them DO NOT USE THIS HOSPITAL!!!!

My Mom twice asked Dr. Savannah Duckworth at the Lakeland UMMC clinic to run a thyroid test. It was never done. She called to cancel an appointment & was on hold on 2 separate occasions for half an hour and just gave up. On a different day, I called to cancel that appt. and was on hold for 1 hour! Candice Adams (Director of Primary Care Services), who I was told is the supervisor for the appointment line switchboard, never answered my 3 calls nor returned my 2 voicemails or message HR relayed to her. I asked for Ms. Adams' e... read more

My mother who has been suffering cancer for about 3 years now eventually got so sick & down she had to spend over 60 days @ UMMC. While spending those days there, she received very poor care. She was bed ridden, so they should have been bathing her properly & taking her to the bathroom when needed. Instead, you would think they allowed her to sit in urine for 60 days. On top of the pain of cancer itself, {her having breast cancer that moved to her lymph nodes under her right arm. That caused fluid to build up on that arm, & ... read more

Typically I love every experience at UMMC being that I am an alumni of the university, but today I’m not so impressed. It took almost 2 hours for my child who is actively wheezing and SOB to receive a breathing treatment in the ER. Maybe if he turns blue, the staff members would work faster. The ER was empty upon arrival so really I’m lost for words. I’m sure the establishment won’t be slow at sending a bill out.

My husband is trying to get on a liver transplant list. We came down to meet with the transplant team when he took a turn for the worse so I had to call an ambulance to pick him up from the motel that UMMC transplant department paid for. He ended up being admitted due to these problems and we are on out 3rd day here. Last night his blood count dropped and now he needs a blood transfusion. If this would have been our local hospital they would have said ok you are feeling better go home. As a wife I am so thankful to the staff... read more
