Best job I've ever had! Culture is the best!! Such a blessing to work for the ONLY Level 1 Trauma Center in the state.
I was flown to this hospital on October 28, 2016 I was in critical condition severe loss of blood and my arm nearly twisted off and the skin torn off to the bone from bicep to top of finders. I was given the best of care by kind compassionate and caring nurses and doctors in teams. They always explained every step of the process leading up to the skin graft and what I might expect in recovery. I was there until the 20th of November. Do not go to this hospital if you want to be seen in the emergency room for a person that is soooo swollen that I can't see. My wife and I spent 4 hours waiting and still was not called for a room to see the doctor. My wife was so mad that she spoke to a nurse. The nurse seemed unconcerned about my problem and the fact that I could have another seizure in the past with this the nurse was told this but she did not care! She said that the wait would be 30 minutes or more because they have gotten people in that have been shot. ... read more
I am a UMMC fan but I do have mixed emotions about it. I do not like the idea that I have to go there but once I am there I like what I see. When I go to UMMC it's because someone in my family or a friend is having medical problems and that is the part I am not happy with. But, when I get there, I feel they are at the best place to get the attention needed. You could not ask for better attention from the employees and medical staff.
