I received adequate care but I found it a little insulting to speak to the doctor for literally under 1 minute, and my nurse had a bit of a " bored and irritated" demeanor.
ED needs a lot of help..they dismiss the family and information.. Diabetics needing insulin not important. 1st nurse was ok 2nd shift not so much.. I had to ask numerous times for lab results and have yet to get them, just told they were ok.. not the answer I wanted... Doctor had to be asked to come to room.. he never introduced himself to patient on admission.. Bad experience..
I took a Family member there, as they weren't to busy, we got to a room quick. As for the nurses, They seemed bothered to be there..very unfriendly except for 1 the main nurse. The others were smug an i can tell looked down at us. Also, how do u ask someone questions when they can't talk? Smh. An asked to repeat there name over 5X?? On every occasion they entered the room? I just recently spent 6 days in there & I have nothing but great things to say about the care I received . I've had family there & always have been treated with respect . when I had to make a choice on having a specialist ,UVA #1
I wish you would relocate the status chart from where the patient always sees it. Our patient in his confusion was fixated on it and asking over and over questions about the info on it.
When I say this is one of the best hospitals in the area on daughter has a lot of medical problems she's been dealing with for years and I can say they truly are a blessing I can truly say that they have took the time out to just hear her out some doctors and some emergency rooms don't care less about your child but one thing I can say one for certain the doctor shoes you're caring and lovable and you know what I will always carry that with me this doctor is awesome and that's the only doctor that I allow my kids to see is o... read more
