Burnsville location ONLY!!! BEWARE: They Follow you!!! I can only say that since June 2008 I have noticed the prices going way up. Example: I would buy various Liz Co. handbags @$2.95 to $5.95 Great price Right? But I would return to shop later through the weeks only to find the bags were jacked up to $9.95 and even $14.95. For USED Liz handbags which honestly were in more poor condition than the prior bags I bought. Are ya' legal? Prices are too high. They are making a killing by reselling everyone's donations. I wonder if they have a charitable organization they help - like the salvation army and Goodwill does., or is it pure profit. I wonder where all their money goes. I find it odd that most staff is young, non-English speaking hispanic. The dressing room is a joke. You can only take 3 items in, and then if you want to try more on you have to go to the end of the line.....what? Are you kidding??? I don't have all day to try clothing ... read more
Over Priced Let's see... I've been shopping at the multiple Unique Thrift stores for about 10 years now. The prices use to be reasonable and now are completely over priced. Some things are just ridiculous like used shoes for $20dollars PLEASE. I don't like the fact that people assume this is a thrift store that helps a charity or gives back to the community because it's not it's pure profit. You donate your goods to Lupus, other charity organizations who sell your stuff to unique by the pound. Unique takes advantage of this ... read more
Where do they get their merchandise from? Does anybody know where Unique get their store merchandise from? Do they clean/wash them at all before putting them on their shelves? I don't have a problem with the concept of a thrift store, but I'd mind unclean merchandise (if that's the case). Thanks, Merdi
wannaxong Some items are priced fair. However the clothing including shoes and such are over priced. Most Goodwill stores offer much better deals and as a result help communities. I do not think UNIQUE has the same goal. UNIQUE seems to be just one big over priced garage sale. All their items are way over priced from a garage sale perspective. Garage sale quality is the key word here to consider. Can anyone say ridiculous over priced garage sale.
They do not speak any english. Although Unique does have some really neat stuff, I find it extremely irritating that the majority of employees there don't speak any english. Even when I called them up on the phone the woman spent 20 mintues trying to understand my request, and I had simplified it as much as humanly possible. That in itself is just ridiculous. If I need assistance finding a particular item in a store, I'd like to know someone is actually able to assist me.
Monday holiday prices are unbeatable. Large, clean, well organized, and 50% off on Monday holidays. It's worth dealing with the crowd. I've gone on three Monday holidays and buy a season wardrobe for under $200, and many items have the new tags still on them. I find little help necessary from the help picking out clothes, but have never experienced rudeness. It is good to know they have a strict policy against selling anything not clearly marked.
Bad customer service All the price tags are stapled to the clothing at this store. I found a great leather coat for a great price but the price tag was stapled through the leather in the front of the coat and not through the tag like it should have been. I tried on the coat and and decided I would purchase it assuming the staples didn't cause any noticable damage. I took the tag off very carefully and decided that the tiny holes were okay. Every Tuesday is 25% OFF! That's why its so busy on Tuesdays. seriously try to leave your kids at home for that day. I love this place! I agree with other reviews bring a friend!
