The Amtrak Northeast Regional heading north switches from a diesel to an electric engine here. You have about a 20 minute stop here w/out power on the train. Great opportunity for a nap!

Whoever said that Penn Station is so much nicer than Union Station must be walking with a white cane. The interior of Union Station is breathtakingly beautiful!
The Amtrack staff is super helpful! A holiday weekend& there was a mixup with my train & one of the attendants did her best to get me on the next one which was already sold out,I really appreciated it
The train rumbling the building freaks me out every time it happens.
If you're in a large group of tourists/students, don't linger around the top or bottoms of escalators or crowd the halls just standing there.
On escalators, you need to stand on the right and walk on the left.
