Union Oyster House near Faneuil Hall was established in 1826 and is the oldest continually operating restaurant in the United States. Usually crowded, the restaurant is frequented by locals and tourists. The late President John F. Kennedy's favorite booth is identified by a plaque, and Daniel Webster was a fan of the oysters. I was disappointed. Brought my life partner after lots of, "you are going to love this place", etc. Staff at the infamous bar were not friendly or willing to engage in conversation. Asked a few questions and received very short unsatisfactory answers. Less attitude would have been nice. Food was good but I doubt my partner will be willing to go back the next time we visit Boston.
Very historic feel, the Traditional Broiled Scrod was amazing, and our server was wicked New England, and a gem of a woman. Saw a 13 pound lobster and was impressed with the cordial nature of the staff. If you're in Boston this is a must go to place!!!!
Great food...feels like stepping back in time. Recommend
It is impossible to have a less than perfect meal at this place or less than stellar service. Those who work here are proud of what they do and it shows in every aspect of dining. I have been to most of the restaurants all over Boston and this is my #1 solid go to place to take anyone I bring into Boston for dining and everyone is impressed! Try the Lobster Ravioli and the Clam Chowder- two you will never forget and pray you can have again. I only gave them 5 stars because 6 wasn't an option.!
New Year's Eve dinner - staff were fun and personable .. food was great
This is such a great and historic place. We stopped in for a bowl of chowder and were not disappointed. It was delicious. The staff was great and I am sure we will be coming back often.
I love the Oyster house! The only downfall is when it's busy the staff and forgets they have customers. But the food is good and the atmosphere is nice.
Loved the history, the food was well prepared with good service. Very little wait time with reservations made through Open Table.
Great place good food and a lot of history I love it
