Upon my first visit he talked to me for 10 minutes and prescribed me some heavy duty medication. He pushes therapy hard, I felt it wasn’t necessary considering what I went there. My subsequent visits with him lasted about 30 seconds. He would not answer any questionsand referred me to my therapist.
Dr ungson will not give you a chance to talk nd he only hives you five minutes at most but will bill insurance for a long visit of 30 mins. He doesn't care about what your concerns are with the meds he makes you take and will make you take a DNA test which I never had to do with any other psychiatrist! I asked his staff for a copy if my visit and they charged me 50 cents for each paper! Stay away from Dr. Ungson at all costs!
Dr Ungson will only give you five to ten minutes of time and will not listen to any of my issues and he simply will push pills . He made me take a DNA test and I felt he was getting a commission from this test as he made me do it or he wouldn’t give me my monthly meds and when the results came in I asked for a copy of the report and he told me that I didn’t need it and I told him I wanted a copy and his staff charged me $1.00 CASH per sheet equaling $20.00 for twenty pages. After many years if his care I asked to make some changes, he was not open to even discuss it. He was cold and got upset with me. I now am seeing a great doctor and have had genic testing done and what do you know I was right. I was on the wrong medication that was not appropriate for me. He never offered genic testing to me . I am so disappointed in him. My new Doctor actually told me he was sorry for the way I was treated.
Do not see this psychiatrist. He does not care about his patients or listen to them. He's always late and talks to you for five minutes and then forces medication on you without listening to your concerns. Horrible waste of time.
I have a friend who has seen Dr. Ungson on and off for 11 years. I understand some of the criticism due to his manners. He seems brisk, but he actually is to the point. If you are clear with him so is he. he has helped my friend every time she needed him. She would leave him because he did not prescribe what she wanted, so she saw somebody else who gave her the Xanax. I've been a patient for almost 5 years I've had many scary episodes all he says is your medication is working you need counseling he spends literally 2 min with you I've timed it all he does is want a DNA test which shows very few medications that he has prescribed doesn't listen to me doesn't care if I have bad side effects from the meds he just ups them and tells you it's not the meds it's the disease after my last episode I lost all faith in him as he says I'm fine don't worry about it you need counseling I would not reco... read more
Dr. Ungson is brilliant! He is an excellent doctor! You have to listen carefully to him when he talks because he doesn't waste time with a patient not being honest with him when he asks a question . He moves fast and accurate! He helps his patients! Just listen to him!!!!
I was nervous about taking my mom here after reading the bad reviews. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the staff and Dr. Ungson. He listened to everything my mom and I said. He was compassionate and gave us a treatment plan that will hopefully have my mom back to her normal, happy self.
