I like Dr. Unger. His office staff, not so much. Their communication with the doctor is horrible. Mom had an “episode” that she never had before. Of course, I was upset. The staff sent him a note which he apparently doesn’t address till 6:30 pm. The next morning I called back and there was no message back from the doctor! I’m very upset!

Dr. Unger always takes the time to listen, encourage and educate his patients. He is knowledgeable and a good communicator. The staff is always professional, respectful and caring. I highly recommend Neurology Institute of Melbourne.

I would never consider seeing another neurologist. Dr. Unger Jr is the best. He thoroughly explains things in language I can understand. Answers all my questions. When I am with him I never feel rushed. He makes me feel like I am the only person in the office. I would not care how long I had to wait. His knowledge and expertise is worth waiting for.

I agree that sometimes there is a long wait to see Dr. Unger. But, he always spends as much time with you as you need or want. He is very thorough, has excellent notes on your visits and labs and always treats you with kindness, patience, respect and attentiveness. I trust him completely. He has tapered me off several medications that were superfluous, and is always reachable. He works with my other physicians.His staff is kind, helpful and available. Highly recommended neurologist.

I've had a great experience with Dr. Unger, his staff & their facility. I had visited one doctor prior to Dr. Unger, but he only found a small portion of my neuropathy. Dr. Unger was able to find just how extensive the damage really was. His follow up encounter report is the main reason I was able to win my SSA disability appeal without a lawyer.

If you are willing to wait an average of 2 hours in the waiting room BEFORE going back to patient room, Dr. Unger and his staff are for you! I spoke with Dr. Unger's nurse manager and she stated this is THEIR standard of care. They triple book patients so you can expect to wait at least 2 hours or more before being seen. Dr. Unger also has his own brand of vitamins that he likes to sell you... Expect to have every available test ordered.

Dr Unger did order more tests for me than my neurologist of 10 years (who ran out of ideas) and even the Mayo Clinic. It was a welcome relief because one test (that I'd never had before) revealed new information to explain why I had developed a constant dull headache between migraine episodes. Then we developed a treatment plan that has given me my life back. If you are serious about figuring out what's wrong & what to do about it, see Dr. Unger. The wait will be worth it.

My son is an adult with Traumatic Brain Injury. We have been seeing Dr. Unger since we moved to Florida in 2014 and are very pleased with the service he provides. He and his office are always very professional in the way they conduct themselves. Dr. Unger is a personable man who listens to what you have to say. He recommended a physiatrist to handle my son rehabilitation program and he has worked out wonderfully well. We consider them both to be important members of our personal team.
