Great Sushi and Techno too – Umi is my pick for best sushi in Austin. The House roll is execellent. Their saki selection is impressive, especially if like me you prefer the higher quality stuff (usually served chilled instead of warm). I also really enjoy the sushi bar atmosphere of the place with techno music playing and wildly changing colored lighting; however, that may be over the top for some people - so consider yourself warned. MMMM!!!!!!!! Simply the Best! – I love Umi Sushi, I especially recommend the Hot Roll!!! It's great!
Hope this isn't the best.. – Just moved to Austin and several people recommended UMI. Although the atmosphere was bright and cheerful, and the J-pop music was fun, the food was mediocre at best. The tuna rolls were rubbery and the teriyaki was way too sugary. The gyoza were only passable. Nothing special here.
