Worst ER hospital I’ve been to in MY LIFE! 11 hrs of waiting in extreme pain with a L5 bulging disk. Worst care, worst ending results, completely disappointed and aggravated after all the recommendations to go there. 11 hours of waiting on top of an hr drive and it was the absolute worst experience of my life
This is a post from a mother who’s daughter (Tara Brady) is currently at Shands Hospital (1/26/19). She has a severe infection and has been waiting for days for an operation. The longer they wait for the operation the more of a possibility for the infection to spread and become worse. All they do is guss what’s wrong with you don’t do any test or look for what’s wrong
RecommendedI just had surgery total left hip replacement Mon, secondary to osteoarthritis! I can’t believe how much better I feel😃 I hate surgeries and anesthesia, but I went to the best hospital, UF Shands, great staff, and a Great Surgeon, Dr Justin Travis Deen! I was in pain for 3 years, my quality of life and mental state was terrible! I thank you Dr Deen for giving me my life back!!! I have hope again and can’t wait to get back and give back!!
ER wait time was a minimum 9 hours, vending machines were cash only, if they even worked. Dirty blankets left in chairs all day. Upon informi g the nurse that I was experiencing an anaphylactic reaction to my lunch, I had to provide my own treatment and medication. Also, 6 hours after my arrival, my husband went to the drugstore to get pain reliever because no doctors were available to treat anyone. Elderly patients were left in wheelchairs for at least 9 hours and not offered clean diapers or assistance to bathrooms.
well lets see, my husband was transferred via ambulance to UF Shands so he could have immediate gallbladder surgery. It has been 3 days now and still no surgery. The OR keeps giving his nurse times for his surgery but it always changes. He is in pain but no one here seems to care. Also, my husband and I both work and we need BOTH our paychecks to pay bills but he's out of work due to this extended hospital stay. I guess they don't actually care about that though. This is one of the best hospital in the United States, thankful with everyone in the Shands children’s hospital, they saved the life of my grandson when He was born . Marteen’s family
How could they improve? By treating their patients like people. I've noticed that a lot of the doctors, especially pain specialists, have a God complex. Yes, we know some of them will throw a pain patient into opiate withdrawal and severe pain, if you disagree or question them; but some of their attitudes go way beyond that point of immorality.
