If a public comment by a member of the campus community needs to be addressed by Student Affairs or Human Resources, it would be. While they may have good patient care in some areas, where is the compassion for the animals in the research lab? The researchers should be treating them with the care and respect a life of any kind deserves. We, as humans, destroy our Earth, torture animals in the name of progress, and watch our own brothers and sisters suffer unnecessarily. Recent articles have stated that many scientists say they do not get the results that they are looking for and this is unnecessary torture to animals. They say there are testing that is 3-D and extremely up to date. Even though some of this costs more, they know that the they can get better updated info to help with humans and diseases. This comes from scientists writing this info. STOP THE TORTURE AND ABUSE OF INNOCENT ANIMALS.

My son walked in UAB for a cervical fusion(overnight stay) and was discharged 5 months later unable to walk and in a wheelchair for life,apparently! Doctors and nurses made serious mistakes with his surgical procedure and nursing care afterwards. The patient care is very fragmented to say the least. Every time a problem arose he was transferred to another service where care was rendered for the problem at hand, not holistic, as it should have been! This was 6 years ago! Will never ever use this hospital !
