Been at Callahan Eye ER for almost 5 hours. Only two patients in waiting room when we arrived. Thought I might like to work in administrative role as we came back to Bham. Not impressed with the operation.
RecommendedI had my 3rd baby in May, and ended up getting really sick 3 days after and my OB didn’t want to treat me so I went to UAB where I was admitted in the women’s and infants unit and I can’t thank them enough they found the problem and got me on the right meds and I am so grateful for the nurses, doctors, techs and just everyone who had a part in my care.
The staff is beyond rude, especially when it comes to anyone you deal with on the phone. All you get back is attitude. The nurses were useless to the point where my mother had to come in and clean me after every time I used the bed pan, otherwise I would’ve been left in my own filth. Even though ALL MY CHARTS stated I had allergies and asthma, their miscommunication and lack of patient care led me to being sent into anaphylactic shock during an MRI. I have dealt with almost every department at UAB. I use to love UAB. It has declined tremendously and the vibe off majority of providers is about insurance money, not patient care. Today was the icing on the cake. I agreed to a certain care by interventional radiogy Dr. Gunn and he did the complete opposite. Each in the procedure would not give me their names and patient advocate wrote nothing down. I waited in the ER for over 3 hours last night with my heart rate 154+, blood pressure 162/102 & oxygen level at 92% without being seen by a doctor... yes I left!!! I understand we are going through covid but that long in the waiting room without seeing a Dr is ridiculous!!!! Yall need to get rid of the drug addicts that come in there for their next fix and focus on the people that really need to be seen. I will NEVER go back to that ER. St. Vincent's St. Clair would've done a better job!!! and that's sad to say
