This has to be the worst moving experiences, and possibly one of the worst business experiences of my life. Here is how the very last experience I will ever have with Uhaul went down: June 29: I reserve a 15' truck to drive across the country on our move. I pay the entire total up front for a truck, some moving equipment, and movers. Early July: I call uhaul to make sure they know we will be keeping the Uhaul an extra two days. Don't use them when you move! I had booked a truck for college move-in week and subsequently called to update my reservation. They did not tell me that I could only have the truck for 6 hours at either of those times. I need the truck overnight as a way to store my stuff. They then updated my order without calling me down to only six hours and did not notify me of that until I did the online check in today. If you want honest service do not go here.

I paid and booked a tow hitch with installation on July 29th via https://www.uhaul.com/Trailer-Hitches/ , paid in full, and then received this confirmation email for my appointment. On the morning of the confirmed August 8th appointment I got up extra early to drive more than 2 hours to Bakersfield uhaul location from Guadalupe/Santa Maria. I arrived at 10:15am just for the staff to tell me there’s no scheduled booking for me to install a hitch, no part, they had no accountability of poor communications for customer service.... read more

I was charged twice for a transaction and was told it was my fault because I checked the vehicle in online, but I was told to check the vehicle in online...When I asked the manager if he could stop the hold that was previously charged he told me no because it would look like the contract never happened and I’m not understanding of that part because I was already charged once for that contract. I called customer service and they told me the same but again how does that work and I was already charged for that contract. So inst... read more

My Review is specific to the Long Island Regional Corporate Office and the Rockville Centre location in particular. I would give 0 stars if I could. I promptly made a reservation 6 days in advance for a 24 hour rental to begin at 6pm on Friday 7/31/20. I arrived on time to pick up my 15' truck where I was told by the branch's general manager that someone had moved my reservation to 3pm and that it had been subsequently cancelled. Two weeks ago my son made an online reservation for a van at 6 PM on Friday August 31 with the Leestown Road location since it much more accessible for him. Last year he rented a van at the Leestown location and was able to pick up using his phone app with no issues. This year we find at the last minute that the reservation was switched to the New Circle Road location and that no equipment had yet to been assigned. So after fighting the rush hour on New Circle Road on a Friday we arrive just about 20 minutes early. He waits ... read more

Tried to get through to their corporate office. Called several days in a row multiple times each day, trying to resolve a problem but you cannot get through to anyone on their corporate line. They basically don’t take calls at all. Horrible company, will never use them again.

We went to U-Haul today to get a trailer ball and attachment. We needed it 16" off the ground. The manager said he was too busy to get a measuring tape. They were not busy. No other customers. Another employee said he'd get one. Then they sold me a hitch and ball, but they couldn't get it to fit my car. After trying 20 minutes, it was not going to work. I said that's fine, I'll return it. The manager then said I could not return it because it was "used". It was never used because they couldn't get it to fit. Still, the packa... read more

An absolutely horrible company - beware and do not use for truck rental. I placed two rentals over a week and a half in advance initially with customer service; upon review online they completely butchered it. I cancelled and rescheduled myself still a week and a half in advance. They changed my pickup locations for both trucks on two separate days.
