Manager was rude, condescending, and not helpful. I booked a rental truck, 15 foot truck, and she called me right before my move to tell me I couldn't keep the truck overnight. That I would have to move my stuff into a storage locker overnight and pick it up the next day. This is not a company rule, it is not listed anywhere on their website, AND I was approved for a 23 hour rental. The Owner, Chris, at the Palmer, Alaska unit, who greeted me out by my car before coming in, obviously had an agenda. His agenda was to get rid of me. Apparently my hitch was a difficult install which he said over and over again. It was so painfully obvious he wanted this work gone!, that I could not believe it. Obviously I was not going to get my hitch installed as planned which I had taken half a day off to do. Reserved a truck at a close location, then they send me across town to actually get the truck at another location. Had the truck for 4 hrs and dropped it off After-hours at 8 pm. Put the keys in the drop off box. Next day then send me a bill for 2 days rental. Also included numerous fees like an After-hours service charge of $21, Fuel charge of $9 even though I put gas in the truck and the needle was more than it had when I picked it up. I'm not sure if I can leave no stars but you need to be able to minus some. I suffer from a bad back and it is obvious I am not in good shape. The gentleman I was with is handicapped. When picking up the truck we had to walk over 500ft in pouring rain to get to the truck, we did our own walk through in the rain, no employee around. Had to go to the office to get the dollie we had rented and put it in the truck ourselves which was a struggle. Terribly rude. Horrible experience. Avoid at all costs unless you love total incompetence and being verbally abused by customer "support".

Terrible experience on 2 of my recent 3 U Haul rentals. The Calgary locations are participating in aggressive Bait and Switch strategies. After initial booking and confirmation, the terms of pricing, and drop off locations were materially changed within a day of service, leaving me, the customer in a compromised situation. It was difficult to communicate with the staff at **** *********** *** ******** ** ***** location. I was constantly threatened over the phone live and via voicemail and in person about how I was stealing the truck and the police were notified by the agent at the store, who is no longer working there. The person who arranged my rental before her convenient departure said her cell phone was turned off for weeks thus I could not inform her continuously. I am expected to pay over $2700 for a truck that I drove for 30 miles or I will not have access to my household goods. Sure, this is reasonable to UHAUL.

The general manager at this location is dishonest. She changes rate without giving notification. I would not recommend doing any business here. It's not the amount that bothers me as much as the principal of good ethics. I'm told you can request copy's of your calls and transactions. But if Donna B*** doesn't want to, she won't. She will not let you know her supervisors name or number. Her ego gets in the way of laws and procedures.

I was charged without my permission for a fee "for holding up another rental" -as the guy said, funny thing is hes the guy who told me I could bring the truck back for 7pm, or keep it for 24 hours. I brought the truck back right at 7pm, on the phone with the lady who worked the counter, she refused to help me check the truck in because they closed at 7pm (so how did I prevent another rental).
