Tucker's Place, which started off as a pizzeria but quickly transformed itself into a restaurant known for juicy hamburgers and inexpensive steaks, is one of the highlights of the Soulard restaurant scene. Located in a funky old building with a dark interior and a cozy bar, it serves well-prepared food to a lively, casual crowd. On the menu, you will find items such as deep-fried vegetable appetizers, chicken and Cajun club sandwiches, shrimp, ravioli and of course, steaks and chops.

Terrible experience – We had a horrible experience at Tuckers. The service was horrible, the food was overcooked (it took them three tries to get it even close), and the prices were outrageous for what we received.
The Tucker Torpedo – Really hits the target! This is a regular on our trips to St. Louis. I cite their steaks as the best yet. Love the atmosphere as well as the food. Still like the downtown, Soulard pub better than the suburb facilities.
Can't Go Wrong – The wait at Tuckers is minimal; the service and food is always good. I have never had a bad meal or experience. The steak has a great flavor; cooked well, perfectly sized portions and reasonably priced.
past its' prime – Last two meals at Tuckers were bad, bad, very bad!!! Steaks were like dried up leather from old shoes. Tuckers does not know the meaning of prime anymore. Used to be a great place to eat many years ago, but no longer.
So So – ok, it is so so. The prices are great! I would reccommend it.
The sauce is a surprise – I liked the choice of steaks at Tuckers, but they don't tell you that they marinate their steaks in their own sauce. I would have preffered to know about the marinate and have a choice to ask that it not be marinated.
i spent 20 years in STL and ate at Tuckers 100's of times and you got to be kidding. Maybe the best burger in town but not the best Steak House. For sure the best bar tenders.
-1 – The hamburgers are better than the steaks, if that gives you a clue. The (lack of) ambience gives you the feel of a chain restaurant.
fine facility – reasonable prices; very good food; nice atmosphere; felt comfortable there
