Busy, fun, delicous – I heard a lot about this place but living in the marina I nevr got the chance to visit till last night and I was pleasntly surprised and very impressed. The design is unique with a japanese reto feel combined with great music. Our waitress had us wait 20 minutes pass our reservation time, but having a coctail at their sister bar '821' around the corner just added to our evening. The sake' list was surprising to me to have that many sakes in this small place. the sushi was exellent and the energy I loved... read more

I was taken care off – I went on Friday night. they were very busy and I was told it would take 30 to 40 minutes of wait & when I showed my displeasure i was surprised by the asian hostess offering me & my bf a drink in the bar around the corner. I was seated in 3o minutes and our waitress was the best we experinced in so many months going out in San francisco. she smiled all the time, explained things in detail and seemed enjoying the place as mush as we were. our food came a bit late but made no diffrance to us as we were ... read more

Great Place – Third Time and all visits were great. I only like to write a review after 3 visits and all are good. The food is great coupled with trendy efficient service in a great space. i loved the invitation to the sister bar around the corner when my table was not ready, although I should say i had a reservation. the wait was good as the bartender at the sister bar was fun, nice and proffesional. In short, this place is professional, up with the times and I know will be here for a long time. I will certainly visit agagi... read more

Nice Chefs but not so creative Rolls – Living in Los Angeles, most sushi places have a ton of specialty rolls on their menus. When in SF this weekend we came here because of the high rating. First of all the happy hour for any sushi no longer exists (which is failed to mention on the site) and although the saketinis were amazing...the sushi left a lot to be desired. It was good but nothing to brag about. We also went on a Saturday evening at 6:00 and we were the only ones there!

best sushi in city – The food here is sublime, the fish is very fresh and the chefs create unusual rolls. I'm shocked to read that someone thought the food dull! I'm a regular and have never had problem with the service. On busy nights, it can be a tad slower since there are only two chefs, but unless you must devour your food like a wild beast, the pace is fine. Hint, sit at the bar, you'll be in for a treat.

creative sushi rolls – what a funky cool atmosphere without the attitude! the staff is friendly and knowledgeable and most importantly super fresh sushi to die for. they have daily specials for the more adventourous types as well as some of the most creative rolls. this looks to become one of my fav sushi spots in the city.

Great sushi – This place is a hip, happenin space, and was a great night of fun. Great sashimi, fun drinks, and good, informed servers made our experience just right. The atmosphere and music has a mellow energy. Not overbearing at all. Would recommend to friends.

worth driving to – I'm a sushi lover, and I make a point of checking out the sushi places around SF. Tsunami is up there, with the hamano's and ebisu's and kabuto's. Let's hope it sustains this in the long run. I was a little afraid first, as the chefs were gaijins. But they do know their stuff, and they have this cool laid back attitude. And they love what they do. The specials are interesting (but misnamed: a tsunami nachos did not appeal to me until I saw it on a plate, and there was fish and no chips involved) and quite ... read more
