Why would a coffee house shut down the espresso machine early on a Friday night? I really needed a decent pick-me-up and prefer indies to starbucks when possible. Decent atmosphere otherwise, even with just a glass of water to drink. ?

5 stars! Megan was an excellent server this past Sunday morning. The food was unique, delicious and filling. We love the energy and atmosphere of this place. Bring a friend or do like I did and bring the family to enjoy it with. I took my kids with me to show them a little bit of downtown and they loved it. We'll be back, and in greater numbers!!
I've been coming to Tryst since my fist visit to D.C. as a wide-eyed soon-to-be college grad in 1999. Now I'm a mom and a freelancer and I no longer live walking distance but I keep coming back. The coffee is excellent and the food is great (just bring back the Mary!) but the atmosphere is what introverts dream a coffee shop should be. Love this coffee shop ! Service is amazing ! They have mastered in making cafe latte and cappuccinos. Definitely coming back here when back in D.C.
