I used to be a regular at Troy’s for about a year when I lived on N Hyland Ave, and I always had a good enough experience. Refused to cut due to “specialized hair cut” and that it would take too long, go elsewhere.

It is not as advertised. It is labeled a walk in hair cutting place however I tried to walk in to get a basic hair cut and he told me he doesn’t want my business since I go to school here and won’t be in town very long. Completely unprofessional to have a sign saying walk in welcomes yet turning me down when there was no one else in there. Get your hair cut anywhere else in Ames.

Refused to cut my hair and interrogated me on my haircut history. Very egotistical guy, uncomfortable to be around. I had never been before and wanted to give him a chance. Not what I was expecting. Would not recommend if it’s your first time.
