One couldn’t ask for a better psychiatrist. I’ve been seeing Dr. Torban for several years. He is an astute professional that has empathy and compassion to his patients. Having a trusting physician- patient relationship is invaluable. I recommend Dr. Torban whole heartedly to those that are serious about improving their mental health. Dr. Torban and his team are wonderful. He has supported me through difficult times with compassion and grace. He can often recognize when I’m struggling just by my appearance or behavior, and his genuine concern for his patients truly stands out. I highly recommend Dr. Torban. He is very professional and really focuses on his patients.

His staff is unprofessional on the phone, and tends to forget to call in your prescription only after you have called to remind them multiple times. He seems to have an unpredictable personality, at times pleasant if you are discussing his interests such as his frequent vacations, but aloof and condescending when you share your symptoms and concerns. I'm very frustrated that I called the office 20 minutes before my appointment—yes, it was last minute, but I was in a situation where I couldn’t take the call to proceed with my appointment. Despite that, the doctor still chose to charge me a $125 no-show fee. Given that he’s a psychiatrist, I would have expected more understanding and consideration. I will not be returning.

This so called psychiatrist is the worst. My antidepressant stopped working after 15 years and instead of switching medications he added another antidepressant to it. He also added several other medications that did nothing but sedate me even though I told him I didn’t want to be overly sedated, which infuriated him so much that he shook the prescriptions in my face and said “you just don’t want to help yourself” and then proceeded to rip them up. Don't go to this doctor if you want any say at all in your medical care!

I have been seeing Dr.Torbin for about 10 years he is great he found the right combination of medicine for me I was depressed bipolar and had severe anxiety and now I feel happy energetic and I work out and lost 51 pounds even on the medication!!!Im so glad I found him because I had seen different psychiatrists for 10 years and couldn’t find ant medicine that worked .I recommend seeing him if you have any of these conditions!!!!!!

I've been seeing Richard Torban since 2003. During our last telephonic appointment I told him that a change he had made in my Klonopin dosage had left me with withdrawal distress, and that I had tried increasing it to obtain relief. He started yelling at me, something he had done at least four times before. I managed to interject, "You need to work on your anger management...
