About this business

Tom Reid, former Minnesota North Star legend and longtime hockey announcer, saw an opportunity to cater to the area's hockey fans and grabbed it. Located in the shadow of St. Paul's RiverCentre, home to the Minnesota Wild, Tom's place rekindles fond memories of the long-gone Minnesota North Stars. Instead of opening an upscale joint overflowing with attitude and serving umbrella drinks, Reid decided to create a friendly tavern where the local working stiffs could grab a drink before or after the game. Hockey memorabilia is p... read more

Typical sports bar, great food I usually go to Tom Reid's during the lunch hour, which they have great wraps. They also have a great lunch salad bar and happy hour. They are packed when there is a Wild game, but again great food and drink specials. I've had slow service a few times though even when it is quiet during the lunch hour.

Just a relaxing bar – Guess if you're into hockey this is a big deal with all the photos and jerseys up on the wall. I like how relaxed it is and you can always watch whatever game is on though. They always have some kind of specials running so its best to check the website or follow them on twitter. I like the wings and try to make 241's on fridays.

Good all around – The food is standard bar fare, not great but good and a decent value. Service is excellent unless they get really packed which you have to expect. Prices are really good especially when they have specials. You can find them on their webpage. Best time is happy hour when they have two for one drinks. I also like the feel of the place, it is just really relaxed and def St Paul all around. Lots of cool hockey stuff everywhere.

Great times and value – There are a lot of sports bars, but none offer the value Tom Reid's does. The food is decent enough but a really good deal for the money. I like to watch games there because there are a lot of fun people, hardly any trouble, and I can grab a bite quickly without spending a fortune. The drink specials are really great with a lot of two-for-one deals at happy hour and during games. The walls are a real museum of hockey pictures and stuff like jerseys, sticks, and so on. All the famous hockey players who... read more

Clean, good specials, people – This sports bar is extremely clean at all times, this is special. The wings there are unbelievable and are on special for half off every night of the week after 9:00 The drink specials can't be beat, did somebody say 2 for 1's? The bartenders are pretty much awesome. If you had a problem then you were probably acting like an ass. In response to the vegetarian, get over it, order the chicken enchiladas without chicken, my girlfriend is a vegetarian and loves them.

Rude immature staff – Hi! We recently visited Tom Reids (Feb '10) My vegetarian friend was visiting from out of town and I recommended this bar. We asked for a menu, she brought to my attention that there wasn't any veggie options, so we asked the bartender for our options. Well, he was a complete ass, like we were asking something unheard of. He and the other bartender would look over at us and giggle and service was poor after. So immature and childish and who doesn't have any vegetarian options (except french fries) in th... read more

AWESOME place!!!! – We stayed at the holiday inn for 5 nighs during the wild and penguins game. We spent 3 nights at this pub. It was GREAT!! We skipped going to any downtown clubs because we enjoyed this place so much!! This is the place to be if you have a love for hockey, great food, wonderful crowd, awesome staff. I cannot say anything bad about this place. It was within walking distance from our hotel/excel energy center. Hey its pretty cool when Tom Reid himself makes his rounds! 5 star and we will be back :)

Best Chili EVER – I volunteered for the EXTREME HOME MAKEOVER project in West St. Paul a couple weeks ago... Tom Rei'ds donated a TON of chili for all the hard workers and it was by far the best chili i have ever had! I have since been in to Reid's twice this week just for the chili!! If you are a chili lover... you have to try it out. Plus, the service was great!
