Neighborhood Gem – I recently moved to the Battery park city area and my neighbor recommended The Vince Smith Hair Experience. What an pleasant surprise. The staff was pleasant and proffesional. The atmosphere was great. I had hair color and a haircut by two different stylists and was really impressed by the level of service and attention to detail. Not to mention a nice glass of wine! I will definitely recommend my new hair salon to all my friends.
The Best Color, Blown out hair experience in NYC! – I am very picky about my hair! I first went there in 1999 with long curly hair that was black, and course. Then, along came the saviors at Vince Smith Hair Experience. I now have beautiful healthy amber colored hair that I get blown out twice a week. Stylists are so-so, some are not skilled, lazy and in a rush – This salon uses mostly redken, so if you like other products (keraste, bumble & bumble), you will have to bring it yourself. The receptionists are polite and greet you nicely. Most of the stylists here are so-so, however, there are 2 female stylists in particular worth mentioning as they are not recommended. Great Haircut!! – I went to the Vince Smith Hair Experience last month-Primarily because it is close to where I work and because of the reviews posted here on City Search. I decided to go with a senior stylist, and the receptionist placed me with Celeste. I have very long hair that I am very attached to, and I asked for a lot of layers while keeping my length. Not Very Good – Was not very pleased with the cut. I thought Vince was very professional but the cut just didn't fit me. Staff was not that friendly. May be a great salon, just not right for me!
consistenty best salon in Manhattan – Redheads know how tough it can be to get the color just right but Vince got it right the first time and everytime since I first walked in his door 3 years ago. His cuts are terrific; he'll tell you what will look good, and sometimes even more importantly, what won't. Never Again! – I've worked downtown Manhattan for a few years, and recently moved to Battery Park City. I decided to support the neighborhood and try the salon down the block. BIG MISTAKE! The staff was cold and unfriendly. The stylist I had did not make me feel comfortable and it seemed like she was having a bad day. I finally found a good stylist!! – I live in the neighborhood and have been searching for a new stylist and let me tell you I lucked out! I walked in and made an appointment for later that day with Renee. She was very sweet, we had a nice conversation, and most important- an excellent stylist! I got a wonderful cut and was treated very well! The prices are reasonable for NYC. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!
Great new look – I felt that I needed to change my hair color. I was trying to let it grow out. I was afraid to go to a new salon. I knew Vince from the neighborhood and felt comfortable with him. I first let him cut my hair and it looked great. The cut was very complementary to me. So I talked to him about my color.
