I was at M D Anderson Cancer Center yesterday and today for my 9-month follow-up scan, and once again I was simply blown away. We always hear about Disney having world-class customer service, but nobody takes care of the customer/patient like M D Anderson. Despite being familiar with the complex, I took a wrong turn, a nurse on break noticed, asked where I was going, and then walked me to my elevator. The staff is always incredibly helpful and nice. And (perhaps most importantly), the scans were very positive!! Thank you -

MD Anderson excels in patient care and professionalism. Dr. Buni is one of the most passionate doctors I've met. She takes her job seriously and connects with her patients which...to me is one of the most important things in Healthcare.

The Drs at the actual offices are great, but the other staff that works here is all together horrible and rude. They are very inconsistent with rules for patients coming in and their families depending on who checks you in and whose working determines if you get to go with your loved one or not. If you must sit down in the main lobby area the girls who takes your name are some of the rudest women I have ever met no empathy or consideration for anyone. In this time of CoVid you think it would make more sense to let people spr... read more

My husband has DIPG. It is a deadly brain cancer. Noone has survived it! His dr is great but the billing department needs alot of work. Not only does my husband have to fight for his life now he gets to fight with the billing department. They told us if treatment has stopped that we can negotiate the bill down to pennies on the dollar. But since his treatment will never stop we get to pay full price. How is this ethical?

Business response:

We’re sorry your experience hasn’t been exceptional. We’d like to look into this. Please send us more details, including the patient’s name and date of birth, to social@mdanderson.org.

My sister has cancer she turned away because her insurance was not good enough .now is going home to die. Because money talks really nice.

Business response:

We understand how upset you are, Lynette. MD Anderson offers financial assistance for Texas residents. More information about this program is available here: https://www.mdanderson.org/.../Patient-Financial.... Numerous health insurance companies cover treatment at MD Anderson, but the decision about whether treatment is covered is ultimately up to the insurance company, not MD Anderson. Our leaders are very concerned about the narrowing of insurance networks and continue to try to work with insurance providers to get them t... read more
