I have been coming to MDA since January after an epic fail in a Dallas hospital. 2 weeks ago I had an internal Hemipelvectomy. I'm currently on a rehab floor recovering which includes learning to walk again. From the moment we walked thru these doors to the present, this has been the most positive situation. Not only are the staff caring and compassionate to the patients, but it amazes me how they are with each other. So kind, supportive, helpful, professional, etc., to each other. My experience at MDA has been wonderful, in... read more

Top notch technology. Staff members and volunteers are concerned about the people in their care.

In 1977, at the age of 24 I was diagnosed with malignant melanoma. I had never even heard of it and the first one in my family to have cancer of any kind ever. Leaving the valley for M D Anderson was scary for me. My mom went with me the first time for pre op and again for my surgery, but after that I needed to be able to navigate it for myself. And that turned out to be very often and many days in a row. I left my two year old behind with parents while joined my new family. I think that anyone who has been a patient there k... read more

Cannot imagine a better place to be if one has cancer. My husband is the patient and better care he surely could not find anywhere else. As his support/caregiver, I have spent many hours here and my life is forever changed in a positive way. There is hope and joy here in abundance.

This place is the worst. My friend with terminal cancer is in constant pain and they refuse to give him any pain meds. He was scheduled for bladder removal to relieve the pain, but was canceled for no apparent reason with no plans to reschedule it. They have been refusing to give him any chemo or radiation even though he spent the last of his money to come here. And now they won't even give him palliative care. They just going to let him die at home without so much as a pain pill. If you are looking for good cancer care, sta... read more
